Died: April 4, 1991, Zurich Swiss novelist and playwright. Studied German literature at the University of Zurich, and travelled to the Balkans and Turkey as a journalist. Studied architecture at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich in 1936, and opened an architectural firm in 1940. After travelling around Europe, the US, Mexico and elsewhere, he began his career as a writer. In his novels, he preferred to use a diary format, and explored issues of identity. His plays were strongly influenced by Brecht, and he is considered, alongside Dürrenmatt, to be a representative figure in the postwar theatre scene. His works include the novels Stiller (1954), Homo Fabel (57), My Name is Gantenbein (64), the plays There They Sing Again (45), The Great Wall of China (47), Don Juan (53), Biedermann und die Brandstifter (58), Andorra (61), as well as the diary Tagebuch 1946-49, 66-71 (50, 72).

[Died] June 12, 1982. Munich Austrian animal psychologist. Doctorate from the University of Munich in 1910. Professor at universities in Rostock (1921), Breslau (23), Munich (25), and Graz (46), and later lived in Munich. Famous for discovering the "honeybee dance." He revealed that honeybees communicate information through a strange dance, but the signals differ between bees of the same species and those of different species, and that they use the dance to announce that they have found a nectar source and to convey information about the location and quality of the source. He won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1973 together with two animal behaviorists, K. Lorenz and N. Timberghen. His main works are Aus dem Leben der Bienen (6th edition, 59) and Die Tanzsprache und Orientiering der Bienen (65).

Frisch, Ragnar Anton Kittil

Born: March 3, 1895 in Oslo
[died] January 31, 1973. Oslo. Norwegian economist and statistician. Professor at the University of Oslo in 1931. In 1930, he participated in the founding of the Econometric Society and was editor-in-chief of its journal, "Econometrica" (1933-35). He was chairman of the first session of the United Nations Commission on Economics and Employment. He made great contributions to the development of econometrics. In 1969, he was awarded the first Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences together with J. Tinbergen of the Netherlands for the development and application of dynamic models for the analysis of economic processes. His main works are Propagation Problems and Impulse Problems in Dynamic Economics (39) and Statistical Confluence Analysis by Means of Complete Regression System (34).

During the process of mountain building, when a folded mountain range begins to form from a geosyncline, deposits unique to the surrounding geosyncline are formed. They generally consist of monotonous alternations of graded sandstone and shale, chert, and limestone with few fossils. When the uplift of a mountain range is intense, conglomerate is also formed. オーストリアの動物心理学者。 1910年ミュンヘン大学で学位取得。ロストク (1921) ，ブレスラウ (23) ，ミュンヘン (25) ，グラーツ (46) 各大学教授，のちミュンヘンに居住。「ミツバチのダンス」を発見したことで有名。ミツバチは奇妙なダンスによって情報伝達を行うが，その信号は同族と異族間で異なり，ダンスの仕方で，蜜源を見つけたことを知らせ，蜜源の場所や質についての情報などを伝達していることを明らかにした。 K.ローレンツ，N.ティンベルヘン両動物行動学者とともに 73年ノーベル生理学・医学賞を受賞した。主著『ミツバチの生活』 Aus dem Leben der Bienen (6版，59) ，『ミツバチの踊り言語と方向定位』 Die Tanzsprache und Orientiering der Bienen (65) 。
