Administrative divisions in Goguryeo in the 6th and 7th centuries in Korea. In the Goryeo section of the Sui Shu, after the 12 official titles, it says, "There are also five ranks of jiyokusatsu (chief officials) in the Naipyo and Waipyo." The Naipyo refers to the Kinai region, and the Waipyo refers to the provinces, and each was divided into five divisions (five clans and five divisions). The word ko-pul means county or prefecture, but in terms of the form of governance, a considerable amount of local autonomy was allowed, centered around mountain fortresses. The Goguryeo hyō was transmitted to Silla and became takuhyō, and the suffix of the place name Gohori can also be seen in Baekje. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
