〘Noun〙① In the early Heian period, an institution that was transformed from the Naishi-no-tsukasa, one of the twelve offices of the Imperial Palace under the Ritsuryo system. It absorbed many of the functions of the other twelve offices of the Imperial Palace. It was usually located in the Onmeiden in the Imperial Palace, and court ladies such as the Shuden-ryo and Sobe-ryo were also stationed here. ※Teishin Koki - Excerpt, July 13, 1st year of Tenkei (938) "An earthquake occurred, and the Naishi-dokoro was moved to the Goryoden." ② The place where the sacred mirror, one of the Three Sacred Treasures , was placed after it became common to avoid sitting with the Emperor on a daily basis. From the early Heian period onwards, it was placed in the Naishi-dokoro instead of the Kurano-tsukasa, hence the name. 〘名〙① 平安時代前期に、令制の後宮十二司の一つである内侍司が変質した機関。他の後宮十二司の機能の多くも吸収した。通常内裏の温明殿にあり、主殿寮・掃部寮などの女官もここに詰めた。※貞信公記‐抄・天慶元年(938)七月一三日「地震、内侍所遷二後涼殿一」② 三種の神器(じんぎ)の一つである神鏡を、天皇との日常の同座を避けるようになって以後、安置した場所。平安前期以降、蔵司に変わり内侍所に置かれるようになったので、この名がある。かしこどころ。※新儀式(963頃)四「以二清涼殿一為二内侍所一」③ 三種の神器の一つである神鏡。※日本紀略‐貞元元年(976)八月四日「内侍所自二縫殿寮一奉レ渡二堀川院一」
