Dolonnor (English spelling)

Japanese: ドロン･ノール（英語表記）Dolonnor

A town in the south of Xilingol League, southeastern Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China. It is located about 250 km north of Beijing. It is also called Duolun. During the Qing dynasty, it developed as a temple town centered around two Lama temples, Shan'in Temple and Yizong Temple, which were imperially-ordered temples of the imperial court. Han Chinese merchants gathered there during the temple pujas, and it became an important trading point with the Mongolians. Today, the left bank of the Shangdu River is a highly populated commercial area, and the right bank is a Mongolian residential area. In Zhenglan Banner, about 50 km west, are the ruins of Shangdu, which was built by Kublai Khan in the mid-13th century and later became the summer palace of the Yuan dynasty.

中国，内モンゴル自治区南東部，シリンゴール(錫林郭勒)盟南部の町。北京の北方約250kmに位置する。ドロン(多倫)ともいう。清代，宮廷の勅願寺である善因寺，彙宗寺の二つのラマ廟を中心に門前町として発展，廟の法会の期間には漢族商人たちも集まり，モンゴル族との交易要地となった。今日，上都河左岸が人口の多い商業地，右岸がモンゴル族居住地となっている。西約50kmの正藍旗には，13世紀中ごろにフビライが建設し，のちに元朝の夏の宮殿となった上都の遺跡がある。
