...His interest is directed to the fact that the strange space that emerges around death, where everyday time disappears, and that emerges when a person approaches death, has the same structure as the space into which a writer enters when approaching the absolute with language. In novels such as "Thomas l'obscur" (1941, new draft 1950) and "Aminadab" (1942), he depicts a state in which the subject collapses and can only wander, trying to grasp the elusive, by dissolving such a state into a fantastical story, and in his collections of essays such as "L'espace littéraire" (1955) and "Le livre à venir" (1959), he analyzes the fate of literary thought that challenges the absolute, using Mallarmé and Kafka as examples. Furthermore, after "Forgetfulness of Expectation" (1961), in "Endless Dialogue" (1969), the collection of fragments "Walking Beyond" (1973), and "Writing Disaster" (1980), he revealed, acting out in his own critical language, how literature ultimately leads to the fragmentation of literature itself.
