Tokiwa [town] - Tokiwa
A former town in Tamura County in central-eastern Fukushima Prefecture. The main settlement, Tokiwa, is a village in the Abukuma highlands that connects the central and coastal areas. It was once the center of the Miharukoma production area and prospered as a horse market. Tobacco, rice, and livestock are cultivated here. In March 2005, it merged with Takine, Ogoe, Funehiki, and Miyakoji villages in Tamura County to become a city, Tamura City. 84.41 km2 . 6,706 people (2003).
