Toyotomi [town] - Toyotomi
A town in Teshio County in northern Hokkaido. The Soya Hills are in the east and the vast Sarobetsu Plain in the west, with the Soya Main Line running through the center of the town. There were coal fields, oil fields, and gas fields, but now only a small amount of natural gas is used for power generation. Dairy farming is the most popular in the Soya region, and there is also a dairy factory. There is Toyotomi Hot Spring (a salt spring, 40°C). In 2005, the Sarobetsu Plain became a Ramsar Convention registered wetland. 520.69 km2 . 4,378 people (2010).

北海道北部,天塩(てしお)郡の町。東部は宗谷丘陵,西部は広大なサロベツ原野で,町域中部を宗谷本線が縦断。炭田,油田,ガス田があったが,現在ではわずかに天然ガスが発電に利用されている。酪農は宗谷地方で最も盛ん。乳製品の工場もある。豊富温泉(食塩泉,40℃)がある。2005年にサロベツ原野がラムサール条約登録湿地となる。520.69km2。4378人(2010)。
