Year of death: 11th June 10th Jowa (11th July 843) Year of birth: Hōki 5 (774) He was a nobleman and man of letters in the early Heian period. He was the son of Omihara Takatori, a Shorokui (Junior High Rank) of Yamato Province. Due to his family's low status, he was adopted by his uncle, Asano Michinaga, Shorokui (Junior High Rank), and went to the capital to study at university. However, in 792, he requested to be reverted to his father's family register (his real surname). He was said to have been "very knowledgeable about history and Chinese literature, and had long been familiar with the pronunciation of Chinese characters," and in 792, he was recognized for his knowledge and went to Tang China as a junior record official (junior clerk) in the Tang Dynasty. After returning to Japan, he was involved in the compilation of the Nihon Koki and Dairishiki, while also serving as a tutor to Crown Prince Kamino (later Emperor Saga). In 833, he was promoted to councilor, and was highly respected as a knowledgeable and capable official. His poems and prose were included in the Bunka Shureishu. 没年:承和10.6.11(843.7.11) 生年:宝亀5(774) 平安初期の公卿,文人。大和国正六位上忍海原鷹取の子。大学での勉強に当たり,家格の低さから叔父である正六位上朝野道長の養子となって都に上ったが,延暦11(792)年自ら申し出て父の戸籍(本姓)に戻っている。「すこぶる史漢に渉り,かねて漢音を知る」といわれ,その知識を買われて同21年遣唐准録事(准主典)として入唐,帰国後は『日本後紀』『内裏式』の編纂に携わる一方,皇太子神野親王(のちの嵯峨天皇)の侍講を務めている。天長10(833)年参議に昇進,博識の能吏として人望も厚かった。その詩文は『文華秀麗集』に収める。神楽歌や催馬楽など宮廷儀礼歌の名手でもあった。 (瀧浪貞子) 出典 朝日日本歴史人物事典:(株)朝日新聞出版朝日日本歴史人物事典について 情報 |
