Also called machiari hakama. Hakama worn as formal attire for men in combination with a crested haori. The fabric is Sendaihira, and in summer, ro is used. One leg is made up of a back cloth, a back crotch with a hollow, a front crotch, an inner cloth, and a side cloth, and the front is cut up 5 to 6 centimeters so that the instep does not get caught and the foot can be moved easily. The back is cut up so that it naturally slopes from the back width to the back crotch, and the front is cut up between the side cloth and the inner cloth. Depending on how the crotch is used, there are various types of hakama with 10 crotches, half 10 crotches, 8 crotches half, and 8 crotches. 8 crotches half are used for normal body types, and 10 crotches are used for obese people. In recent years, the Hanjufu-kengo-hakama (half-length trousers with crotches) have become popular as a well-formed and clean-looking pair of hakama.

襠有(まちあり)袴ともいう。紋付羽織と組み合わせて、男子の礼装に使用する袴。布地は仙台平(せんだいひら)、夏には絽(ろ)を用いる。片足は後ろ布、刳(くり)のある後ろ襠と前襠、奥布、脇(わき)布とによって構成され、前は足の甲がつかえず足さばきのよいように5～6センチメートルの切上げをつける。後ろは後ろ幅の位置から後ろ襠まで、前は脇布、奥布の間で自然に斜めになるように切上げをつける。襠布の用い方によって、十布遣襠有袴、半十布遣襠有袴、八布半遣襠有袴、八布遣襠有袴などがある。普通の体型には八布半遣襠有袴、肥満体には十布遣襠有袴が使用される。近年は形よくはきよい袴として、半十布遣襠有袴が主として用いられている。
