English Delft Pottery

...From then on, all tin-glazed pottery fired in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Haarlem, Hoorn and other parts of the Netherlands came to be called Delftware. In England, imitation of these tin-glazed pottery is called English Delftware. The birth of tin-glazed pottery in Flanders began in the early 16th century, when Italian potters, including Guido da Sabino (later renamed Guido Andries) of the Castel Durante kiln, emigrated to the free cities of Antwerp and Bruges and fired maiolica there.
