Ito Chiyuu

A lecturer. His real name was Nitaro. He was born in Yokohama. He joined the Liberal Party and studied under Hoshi Toru. After serving as a member of the Tokyo Prefectural Assembly and other positions, he was elected to the House of Representatives in the first general election in 1928 (Showa 3). Meanwhile, in 1890 (Meiji 23), he called himself Sobokusha Chiyu and gave political talks based on his own observations and knowledge, later changing his name to Ito. His "Ito Chiyu Complete Works" (30 volumes, 1929-31) was unprecedented as a lecturer, and he also founded the Storytelling Club to improve his speaking skills, and his "Chyu Magazine", first published in 1935, is useful as a research resource for eloquent literature. The second (1910-83) was Seno Kenji, whose real name was Seno Kenji. He was the son-in-law of the first, and took the name in 1958 (Showa 33) after passing through Tanabe Nanyu. Like his predecessor, he excelled in political and current affairs talk.
