…In January 1862 (Bunkyu 2), the shogunate had the bookshop, Rousoukan, located at Sannohashi on the Tatekawa River in Honjo, which was a government bookshop, publish it under the title “Official Batahiya Shimbun.” The second volume was published in February of the same year, and the third and fourth volumes, renamed “Official Kaigai Shimbun,” were published in August and September. The contents were abridged translations of the country information column of the Yafansche Courant, with the originals being the August to November 1861 issues for “Batahiya Shimbun” and the January 1862 issues for “Kaigai Shimbun.” Both translations were done by the Western Book Investigation Office, which had renamed itself from the Bansho Shirabesho. …

…1862年(文久2)1月，幕府は御用書肆であった本所竪川三之橋の老皀（ろうそう）館に，これを《官板バタヒヤ新聞》と題して出版させた。同年2月には2冊目が，8月と9月には《官板海外新聞》と改題して3冊目および4冊目が出版された。内容はそれぞれ《ヤファンシェ･クーラント》の国別情報欄の抄訳で《バタヒヤ新聞》は1861年の8～11月分を，《海外新聞》は62年の1月分を原本とし，翻訳はいずれも蕃書調所を改称した洋書調所が担当した。…
