A pass on the border between Minami Echizen Town, Nanjo County, Fukui Prefecture and Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture. It is 539 meters above sea level. It divides the valley of the Itadori River, a tributary of the Hino River flowing north along the Yanagase Fault, and the Takatoki River, a tributary of the Ane River flowing south, and there was a steep road called Itadorikuzure in the old days. Shibata Katsuie, who entered Echizen Kitanosho, developed this road as a shortcut to Azuchi in Omi (Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture), and in the early modern period, the Hokkoku Kaido road leading to the Hokuriku region from Maibara and Sekigahara passed through it. In the Meiji era, the road around Tsuruga (National Route 8) and the Hokuriku Main Line were opened, and the road fell into disuse, but in 1975 this road became National Route 365, and traffic volume has increased. Large Japanese horse chestnut trees remain at the pass, and the Togeshita settlements of Itadori to the north and Nakanokouchi to the south are located there.
