Also known simply as land readjustment. In cities or their suburbs, land is exchanged to improve the subdivision, condition, and facilities of a group of lands in order to improve the environment of the entire district, such as by improving public facilities such as roads and increasing the convenience of residential areas. In Japan, the City Planning Act was enacted in 1919, and the Special City Planning Act was enacted at the end of 1923 to regulate urban planning in Tokyo and Yokohama after the Great Kanto Earthquake. After the war, the Land Readjustment Act was enacted in 1954. The Land Improvement Act also covers the readjustment of farmland. Source : Heibonsha Encyclopedia About MyPedia Information |
