A fruit tree of the Rutaceae family native to southern Asia. Also known as pomelo or pompom. It is grown in small quantities in southern Kyushu and other areas. It has large leaves and white flowers that grow in clusters. The fruit is large, spherical to pear-shaped, and some weigh up to 1 kg. The skin is thick and the inner skin is cotton-like. アジア南部原産のミカン科の果樹。ザボン,ボンタンとも。九州南部などに少量作られている。葉は大きく,花は数花集まって付き白色。果実は球形〜西洋ナシ形で大きく,1kgに及ぶものもある。果皮は厚く内皮は綿状。果肉の淡黄色のものと淡紅色のものがある。果肉を生食するほか果皮を砂糖漬にする。
