Du Yue-sheng (English name)

Born: Guangxu 14 (1888), Shanghai
Died in 1951. Hong Kong, China. Leader of the Qing Bang (Blue Bang), businessman. Patron of Chiang Kai-shek. Also known as the Opium King. His name was Yong. At about the age of 20, he became the leader of a group of lawless people and ran an opium den. Seeing the talent of the Blue Bang leader Huang Huang Rong, he organized the Blue Bang in the French Concession in Shanghai and became its leader. After protecting wealthy people in the Jiang-Zhejiang War of 1924, he extended his influence to the upper classes. In 1927, he formed the anti-communist gang organization Gong Jin Hui to cooperate with Chiang Kai-shek's counter-revolutionary coup. For this, he was appointed Supreme Councilor of the General Headquarters of the Army, Navy, and Air Forces, and held important positions such as Chinese Committee member of the Shanghai French Concession Industrial Bureau, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Federation, and President of the China Industrial Bank, and also held executive positions in many companies and banks. During the Sino-Japanese War, he controlled the Shanghai economy and competed with Japan, and in 1949, as the representative of the All-China Shipbuilding Association, he called on Mao Zedong to resume North-South trade and promote peace, and also tried to neutralize Shanghai, but failed and left for Hong Kong.

中国，チンパン (青帮) の首領，実業家。蒋介石の後援者。アヘン大王とも呼ばれた。名は鏞。 20歳頃無頼群の頭目となり，アヘン窟経営を行なった。青帮の首領黄金栄に見込まれ，上海フランス租界に青帮を組織して首領となり，1924年の江浙戦争で資産家を保護してから上層社会にも勢力を伸ばした。 27年反共暴力団組織「共進会」を結成して蒋介石の反革命クーデターに協力した。その功により，陸海空軍総司令部最高参議となり，上海フランス租界工部局中国人委員，同商会連合会長，中華かい業銀行頭取の要職を占め，多数の会社，銀行の重役を兼ねた。日中戦争中は上海経済を支配して日本と対抗し，49年には全国輪船業連合会代表として毛沢東に南北貿易再開，和平を呼びかけたり，上海の中立化を画策したが失敗し，ホンコンに去った。
