…The tendencies and artistic ideals of the works varied depending on the artist and region, but all of them received popular support from the late 19th century to the early 20th century and played a leading role in the German-speaking world. The first was the Munich Secession, founded in 1892, and its core members were the symbolist painter F. von Stuck and the naturalist painter Wilhelm Trübner (1851-1917). The next was the Vienna Secession, founded in 1897, centered around G. Klimt, and also included many architects and craftsmen such as JM Olbrich and J. Hoffmann, becoming the center of Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) in Austria. …
