Boron nitride (boron nitride)

Japanese: 窒化ホウ素(窒化硼素) - ちっかほうそ（英語表記）boron nitride

Chemical formula: BN. It is produced by mixing sodium borate and ammonium chloride and melting them, or by mixing boron trichloride with excess ammonia and thermally decomposing it at 750°C in an ammonia atmosphere. There are three crystal structures: graphite hexagonal, zincite cubic, and wurtzite hexagonal. At room temperature and pressure, the graphite hexagonal is the stable phase. (1) Graphite boron nitride White flake crystals with a structure similar to graphite. The B-N interatomic distance is 1.446 Å, the layer spacing is 3.34 Å, and the interatomic distance is considerably smaller than the sum of the single bond and covalent bond radii of boron and nitrogen, suggesting that it has double bond properties.

化学式BN。ホウ酸ナトリウムと塩化アンモニウムを混ぜて融解するか，三塩化ホウ素と過剰のアンモニアを混ぜてアンモニア雰囲気中750℃で熱分解するなどの方法でつくられる。結晶構造には黒鉛型六方晶，セン亜鉛鉱型立方晶，ウルツ鉱型六方晶の三つがある。常温常圧では黒鉛型六方晶が安定相である。(1)黒鉛型窒化ホウ素　白色薄片状結晶で，構造は黒鉛に似る。B―N原子間距離は1.446Å，層間隔は3.34Å，原子間距離はホウ素および窒素の単結合，共有結合半径の和よりもかなり小さく，二重結合性をもつと思われる。
