Naonori Ii
1848-1904 Daimyo and aristocrats from the late Edo to Meiji periods.
Born on April 20, 1848. Second son of Ii Naosuke. After his father was assassinated outside Sakuradamon Gate, he became the 16th head of the Ii clan, lord of Hikone Domain in Omi (Shiga Prefecture) in 1860. As punishment for the Sakuradamon Gate Incident, he was stripped of 100,000 koku of rice and dismissed from his position as Kyoto Shugo. In 1890, he became a member of the House of Peers. He became a count. He died on January 9, 1904. He was 57 years old.

嘉永(かえい)元年4月20日生まれ。井伊直弼(なおすけ)の次男。桜田門外で暗殺された父のあと,万延元年近江(おうみ)(滋賀県)彦根藩主井伊家16代となる。桜田門外の変の追罰により10万石を減ぜられ,歴代の京都守護を罷免される。明治23年貴族院議員。伯爵。明治37年1月9日死去。57歳。
