Tokyo Theological University

It is a private institution. In 1943 (Showa 18), many Protestant seminaries at the time were merged with the founding of the United Church of Christ in Japan, and the school was established as the Japan Christian Theological College. The United Church of Christ in Japan was established with the aim of integrating various Protestant denominations, and the school's purpose was theological research and training of evangelists. In 1949 (Showa 24), it became a university under the new system. As of 2010 (Heisei 22), it has a Theology Department in the Faculty of Theology and a graduate school in Theology, and after completing a four-year undergraduate course, students complete a two-year master's course, essentially receiving a six-year professional education. It is one of the single-discipline universities in Japan with the smallest number of students (25 students per year). It is located at 3-10-30 Osawa, Mitaka, Tokyo.

私立。1943年（昭和18）、当時の多くのプロテスタント系神学校を、日本基督(キリスト)教団の成立を契機に合同し、日本基督教神学専門学校として設置された。プロテスタント諸教派の統合を理念とする日本基督教団の設立になり、神学研究と伝道者養成を目的とする。1949年（昭和24）新制大学となる。2010年（平成22）時点で、神学部神学科と神学研究科の大学院をもち、学生は学部課程4年修了後、2年間の修士課程を修め、実質的には6年制の専門職教育を受ける。日本でもっとも少人数の学生（1学年定員25名）の単科大学の一つである。所在地は東京都三鷹(みたか)市大沢3-10-30。
