A town in Inabe County in northern Mie Prefecture. It occupies an alluvial plain in the middle reaches of the Inabe River and is involved in rice cultivation. It borders Kuwana and Yokkaichi, and has tire manufacturing and other businesses. It is served by the Hokusei Line of the Sangi Railway. Area: 22.68 km2 . Population: 25,661 (2010).
