Japanese: 東医宝鑑 - とういほうかん

A medical book from the Joseon Dynasty. Heo Jun, under the orders of King Seonjo, began compiling medical books from Korea and China in 1597, completing the compilation in 1610 and publishing it in 1613. It is divided into sections on internal medicine (internal medicine), external medicine (surgery), miscellaneous (epidemic diseases, gynecological diseases, pediatric diseases, etc.), decoctions (prescriptions), and acupuncture and moxibustion, and includes prescriptions for each illness. It combines the knowledge of Chinese medicine with traditional Korean medicine, and was highly regarded as Korea's foremost medical book. It quickly spread to China and Japan, and many editions were published during the Edo period, including the official edition by the shogunate, and was highly valued by various feudal domains.
