…During this time, he gradually established borders with neighboring countries and neutral zones. After the discovery of oil fields in 1938, he used the oil revenues to work on settling nomads (the Ikhwan movement) and agricultural development. He was enthusiastic about the Majlis, which listened directly to the appeals of the people, and expanded his circle of relatives to unify the kingdom. He gained many princes, including Faisal, and worked to form and strengthen the royal family as the ruling class until his death in 1953.
