Shan - Shango

It is the language of the Shan people in Shan State, Burma (Myanmar). It is one of the Tai languages. It is close to the Khamti language of northern Burma and Assam. It is characterized by the loss of liquid consonants at the beginning of words. It uses Burmese characters. In a broad sense, it includes the Chinese Shan language of Yunnan. ビルマ（ミャンマー）のシャン州に分布するシャン人の言語。タイ諸語の一つ。ビルマ北部およびアッサムのカムティー語に近い。語頭子音群の流音が脱落しているのが特徴。ビルマ系の文字を使用する。広義には雲南の中国シャン語を含む。話し手の数は約200万人。
