The ruins of a castle in Itokazu, Tamagusuku, Nanjo City, Okinawa Prefecture. Its original name was "Itokazugusuku." It is said to have been built around the 14th century by Itokazu Anji, the third son of Tamagusuku Anji, but the exact details are unknown. It was the castle of a powerful Anji, so in the song "Itokazu's sun (Teda) = Anji," there is an Omoro. The stone wall remains have been relatively well preserved, making it a valuable resource for learning about Okinawa's fortified architecture. Carbonized rice and wheat have been collected from within the castle ruins, and it is attracting attention for its connection to prehistoric times. A nationally designated historic site.
