〘名〙① 答弁を求めるための書状。質問状。※十問最秘抄（1383）序「若(も)し賢慮、違する事あらば、かさねて問状を出ださるべしと也」② 中世、幕府の訴訟制度で、訴人（原告）が訴状を提出すると、裁判所がこれを論人（被告）に伝えて弁明を求めるために出す文書。問状御教書・問状奉書などの形式がある。といじょう。〔日葡辞書（1603‐04）〕
