Also known as an anechoic chamber. It is equivalent to an anechoic chamber for sound and a dark room for light. Usually, radio wave devices such as antennas are designed based on the specifications of what characteristics they will have when placed in an infinitely large space. Therefore, to investigate their characteristics through experiments, a space that is infinitely large in terms of radio waves, that is, a space where there are no reflected radio waves from anything other than the test object, is required. To create such a thing in a finite space, it is sufficient to cover the walls of the finite space with suitable radio wave absorbers. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
