Japanese: ナルト叙事詩 - ナルトじょじし（英語表記）Nartskie Skazaniya

An oral heroic epic poem of the Ossetian and Adyghe people of the North Caucasus. It is also circulated among neighboring Caucasian peoples. The story revolves around the origins and military exploits of the Nartid clan, a beautiful woman born to a sea-dweller and a spirit, and her son Soslan (Sosruko). It is thought to be based on a medieval Alan epic poem derived from Scythian mythology. It was collected in the 19th century and translated into Russian, German, and French. [Kitagawa Seiichi]

北カフカスのオセット人，アディゲ人の口承英雄叙事詩。近隣のカフカス諸民族の間にも流布している。ナルト族諸家の起源と武勲が主題で，海人族と精霊との間に生まれた美女シャタナ(サタナ)とその息子ソスラン(ソスルコ)を中心に物語が展開する。スキタイ神話に由来する中世アラン人の叙事詩が基層にあると思われる。19世紀に採録され，ロシア語，ドイツ語，フランス語に翻訳されている。【北川誠一】
