Also called NGL (short for natural gas liquid). Gasoline extracted from wet gas (gas containing relatively large molecular weight hydrocarbons) from natural gas or oil wells. There are two methods for extracting it from wet gas: pressurizing it to liquefy it, or absorbing it into gasoline. The main components are light gasoline such as butane C4H10 , pentane C5H12 , and hexane C6H14 . It is used as gasoline for automobiles and as a raw material for the petrochemical industry.
