Konstantin Miladinov

Yugoslav poet. Born in Macedonia. After studying philosophy in Athens, he worked with his brother Dimitar M. (1810-62) on the nationalist movement and collected folk songs. While studying in Moscow (1856-60), he wrote "Longing for the South," reminiscing about his hometown on the shores of Lake Ohrid. He traveled to Istanbul to rescue his brother from imprisonment, but was captured and massacred himself. Although he produced only a small number of works, he is revered as the father of modern Macedonian poetry. [Tanaka Issei]

ユーゴスラビアの詩人。マケドニアの生れ。アテネで哲学を学んだ後，兄ディミタルDimitar M.(1810‐62)とともに民族運動を展開しながら，民謡の収集に努める。モスクワ留学中(1856‐60)にオフリト湖畔の故郷をしのび〈南への憧れ〉を詠んだ。投獄中の兄を救うべくイスタンブールへ赴き，自身も捕らえられて虐殺された。作品数こそ少ないが，近代マケドニア詩の父として慕われている。【田中一生】
