Discoid lupus erythematosus is an abbreviation for discoid lupus erythematosus. It is also called discoid lupus erythematosus. It is a chronic type of acute systemic lupus erythematosus (lupus erythematosus), a typical collagen disease, that only shows skin symptoms. The rash is a localized erythema without subjective symptoms, accompanied by scales, but there is no atrophy of the skin in the center, and the edges often show increased pigmentation. It occurs symmetrically on the face, especially on both cheeks (this type of rash is called butterfly rash), and also commonly on sun-exposed areas such as the ears, tip of the nose, lips, back of the hands, and neck.

円板状紅斑性狼瘡（ろうそう）discoid lupus erythematosusの略。円板状エリテマトーデスともいう。膠原病の代表的な疾患である急性全身性紅斑性狼瘡(エリテマトーデス)の皮膚症状のみの慢性型をいう。発疹は自覚症状のない限局性の紅斑で鱗屑を伴うが，中心部の皮膚の萎縮性もない，辺縁は色素増強することが多い。顔面，とくに両頰部を中心に左右対称的に(このような発疹を蝶形紅斑という)，そのほか耳，鼻尖，口唇，手背，頸部などの日光露出部位に好発する。
