Kabuki actor. A stage name used as the former or latter name of Ichikawa Danjūrō. It is said to have been given to the first Danjūrō by the chivalrous man Karainu Juemon at his birth, and is a name with a long history in the Ichikawa family. (1) First Danjūrō: Childhood name of the first Danjūrō. (2) Second Danjūrō: After-name of the second Danjūrō. Changed his name in 1735 (Kyoho 20). (3) Third Danjūrō: After-name of the fourth Danjūrō. Changed his name in 1772 (An'ei 1). (4) Fourth Danjūrō: Former name of the sixth Danjūrō. Changed his name from Ichikawa Tokuzō in 1782 (Tenmei 2). (5) Fifth Danjūrō: Former name and latter name of the seventh Danjūrō.
