This law was discovered in 1803 by the British W. Henry, and is related to the solubility of gases in liquids. It is expressed as "the volume of gas that dissolves in liquid is constant regardless of pressure" or "the saturated solubility of gas is proportional to pressure." It is known that this law holds true with a fair degree of approximation for real gases as long as the concentration and pressure are not too high. This can also be derived thermodynamically from the ideal gas law, but by combining Henry's law and Boyle's law, we can derive the law that "the gas concentration ratio between the gas phase and the liquid phase in equilibrium is constant."
