Born in Osaka. In the 11th year of the Genroku era, he changed his name from Tamamatsu Heisuke to Kanaya Kingoro and became a leading actor. He was a prostitute in the Kagoya-cho bathhouse, and later became a prostitute employed by Shima no Uchiwataya. He was known as "Kosan Kingoro" and was hated by people in the world of Gidayu and Kabuki. He died on November 20th, 13th year of the Genroku era.
