Representative genera include the Sturnus genus (16 species) and the Acridotheres genus (6 species including the Myna (illustration)), the former distributed widely across Eurasia and the Malay Archipelago, and the latter across South Asia. In addition to the Grey-streaked Starling, the Red-streaked Starling S. philippensis also migrates to Japan as a summer bird and breeds in central and northern Honshu.
