Cylindrical copperware - Tsutsugatadouki
A bronze product from the Kofun period that is thought to have been attached to the top of a cane. It is a hollow cylinder 13 to 20 cm long and about 3 cm in diameter, with one slightly thicker end sealed to form the top. About two-thirds of the way from the top there are vertical holes on all four sides, and a thin copper rod about 5 cm long is placed inside to function as a bell. About one-third of the part closest to the open end is fitted into a wooden cane and fixed in place using a mekugi hole. The vertical holes are usually in two rows, one above the other, but there are rare cases where they are in three rows.
