The highest peak in Germany (2,963m), located southwest of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria, Germany. Located on the border with Tyrol, there is a summit cross on the eastern peak, and a weather station and mountain hut on the western peak. A mountain railway runs from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and a ropeway runs from the Tyrolean side.
