Tong County - Tōng xiàn

Japanese: 通県 - つうけん（英語表記）Tōng xiàn

A satellite city in the eastern part of Beijing, China. It was called Lu County in the Western Han Dynasty and Lu County in the Eastern Han Dynasty. The foundations of the current city were laid during the Later Tang Dynasty of the Five Dynasties, and it was called Tongzhou from the Jin Dynasty. During the Republic of China, it was directly under Hebei Province as Tong County, but it is now part of Beijing. It is a key point on the Grand Canal, and since the Tonghui River was opened in the Yuan Dynasty to transport goods from the south to Beijing, it has developed as an economic city. Today, it is connected by both the Jingcheng (Beijing - Chengde) and Jingtao (Beijing - Tangshan) lines, and is the center for the distribution of agricultural products in the area.

中国，北京市東部の衛星都市。前漢では路県，後漢では潞県といい，五代の後唐のとき現在の市街の基礎が築かれ，金代から通州と称した。中華民国では通県として河北省に直属したが，現在は北京市に所属する。大運河の要点で，南方から運ばれた物資を北京へ転送するため，元代に通恵河という運河が開かれて以来経済都市として発展した。いまは京承(北京～承徳)，京坨（けいだ）(北京～唐山)両線が通じ，付近の農産物集散の中心である。
