Chemical formula: K[PtCl 3 (C 2 H 4 )]・H 2 O. Common name for potassium trichloroplatinate(II). It was first synthesized by W. C. Zeise around 1830. Zeise prepared it by treating platinum chloride(IV) with ethyl alcohol and adding potassium chloride. It can also be obtained by directly adding ethylene to a hydrochloric acid solution of platinum chloride(II). Yellow crystals. Melting point: 170-180°C. The structure of [PtCl 3 (C 2 H 4 )] - has three Cl atoms and a C 2 H 4 center at the vertices of a square planar structure with Pt at the center (see figure), and the C 2 H 4 is coordinated by a double bond with the C-C axis perpendicular to the plane. It was the first complex to coordinate an unsaturated hydrocarbon. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
化学式K[PtCl3(C2H4)]・H2O。
