A gagaku musician from the late Heian period. He was a musician affiliated with Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine, but due to his talent for the flute, he was adopted by Koresugi, the founder of the Ogami family, one of the underground musicians serving the imperial court. His family trade was transverse flute. He was the flute teacher for both Emperors Horikawa and Toba. He learned the ryuteki flute from Tobe Masakiyo and Koresugi, the koma-bue from Tamate Kinnobu, and the kagura-bue from Emperor Horikawa, and mastered the techniques of all three transverse flutes used in gagaku. As a culmination of his work, he wrote the Ogamike Fuefu, a valuable flute record that conveys the state of gagaku's transition to nationalization. In 1118, he became the first flute player, and in 1132, he was awarded the rank of Junior Fifth Rank, an exceptional rank for the time. The following year, he wrote Ryumei-sho (also called Ryugin-sho) for his daughter Yugiri, who was known for her skill on the koto. Although this book is small, it is a valuable work that precedes the Kamakura period work Kyokunsho (1233). Yugiri is the mother of the author of Kenreimon'in Ukyo no Daibushu.

平安時代後期の雅楽奏者。石清水八幡宮所属の楽人であったが,笛の才能を見込まれて,宮廷勤仕の地下楽家のひとつである大神家の祖,惟季の養子となる。家業は横笛。堀河,鳥羽両天皇の笛の師範。竜笛を戸部正清と惟季に,高麗笛を玉手公延に,神楽笛を堀河天皇に学び,雅楽に用いる3種すべての横笛の技術を習得した。その集大成として『大神家笛譜』を著したが,これは雅楽の国風化への移行期の様相を伝える貴重な笛譜である。元永1(1118)年に笛一の者となり,長じて長承1(1132)年当時としては破格の従五位下に叙される。翌年箏の上手として知られる娘夕霧のために『竜鳴抄』(『竜吟抄』とも)を著す。この書は小書ながら,鎌倉期の楽書『教訓抄』(1233)に先んじる貴重な楽書である。なお夕霧は,『建礼門院右京大夫集』の作者の母である。<参考文献>『楽所補任』
