A tribe in western Afghanistan. Its name means Chahar (meaning "four" in Persian) and Aymak (meaning "tribe" in Mongolian and Turkish). It refers to the four tribes of Hazārī, Jamshīdī, Fīrūzkūhī, and Taymānī. However, they call themselves simply "Aymak." The current population is said to be about 800,000, their language is Persian, and they contain many Turkish words.
