English Suite

...From around the year 1720, Bach's interest turned to composing clavier music for the education of his sons and pupils, and for the family gatherings, especially for his new wife. He produced the two- and three-part Inventions (BWV 772-801), the first volume of the Well-Tempered Clavier (BWV 846-869), and the French Suite (BWV 812-817). In recent years, the most popular theory is that the English Suite (BWV 806-811) was composed around 1715 during the Weimar period.
