Chichijima Islands

Japanese: 父島列島 - ちちじまれっとう

An archipelago that forms part of the Ogasawara Islands in Tokyo. It has an area of 38.62 ^km2 and belongs to Ogasawara Village, Ogasawara Subprefecture. It is distributed between 27° and 27°10' north latitude and 142°12' east longitude, and consists of 33 islands, including Magojima, Ototojima, Anijima, Nishijima, Higashijima, Chichijima, and Minamijima. Chichijima is the largest, and all the other islands are uninhabited. It has a subtropical climate, and the nearby waters are home to many coral reefs and tropical fish. It belongs to Ogasawara National Park. It was registered as a natural World Heritage Site in 2011.

東京都，小笠原諸島の一部を構成する列島。面積 38.62km²。小笠原支庁小笠原村に属する。北緯 27°～27°10′，東経 142°12′付近に分布し，孫島，弟島，兄島，西島，東島，父島，南島など 33島からなる。父島が最大で，父島以外は無人島。亜熱帯性の気候で，付近の海域にはサンゴ礁，熱帯魚が多い。小笠原国立公園に属する。2011年世界遺産の自然遺産に登録。
