Japanese: 智恵鑑 - ちえかがみ

Kana-zoshi. Written by Tsujihara Genpo. Published in 1660 (Manji 3). 10 volumes. Each volume lists 10 wisdoms, such as Jochi, Akechi, and Satchi, and lists a total of 200 examples, all of which are Chinese, including Emperor Gaozong of the Shang dynasty. Most of the examples are based on Feng Menglong's Chino. One of the popular enlightenment books of morality among kana-zoshi, this book was widely read, influencing not only Saikaku and Chikamatsu, but also spawning follow-up works such as Tosei Chiekan and Honcho Chiekan. 仮名草子。辻原元甫作。1660年(万治3)刊。10巻。各巻ごとに，上智･明智･察智など10の智恵を挙げ，総数200の例話を並べたものであるが，殷の高宗をはじめすべて中国の例話である。大半は馮夢竜（ふうぼうりゆう）の《智囊（ちのう）》によっている。仮名草子に流行した啓蒙教訓書の一つであるが，この書は広く読まれ，西鶴や近松に影響を与えたばかりでなく，《当世智恵鑑》《本朝智恵鑑》のような追随作を生んだ。【野田寿雄】
