Japanese: 弾例 - だんれい

A type of "rei" from the Ritsuryo period, this is a collection of laws and regulations that includes standards for the denunciation of officials by the Danjodai and detailed rules for the execution of general affairs. The "92 articles of Kinshiki," created as early as 681 (Tenmu 10), may be considered the precursor to the Danrei, but it seems that the Danrei were not compiled in earnest until the 720s (number of articles unknown). Later, in 792 (Enryaku 11), the "New Danrei" (83 articles) was enacted and promulgated, which was probably a comprehensive revision based on the old Danrei. Another Danrei was enacted just 15 years later in 807 (Daido 2), which is thought to indicate the trend toward political revision that was prominent during the Heijō period under Kanmu.

律令時代の〈例〉の一種で，弾正台の行う官人糾弾の基準と庶務執行のための細則とを集めた法令集。早く681年(天武10)に作られた〈禁式92条〉は弾例の先蹤とみなしうるかもしれないが，弾例が本格的に編纂されたのは720年代のことであったらしい(条数不明)。その後792年(延暦11)に〈新弾例〉83条が制定公布されたが，これは旧弾例を基礎として全面的に補訂を加えたものであろう。わずか15年後の807年(大同2)にまた弾例が制定されたが，これは平城朝に著しかった桓武朝政治修正の風潮を示すものと思われる。
