A physician from the Heian period. Great-grandson of Yasuyori. He studied under his father Tadaaki (990-?), a herbalist, and had an excellent knowledge of herbal medicine. At the age of 14, he became head of the Bureau of Medicinal Medicine. He was later appointed as the official secretary of the newly established Seyakuin Medical Center, a position he held for the rest of his life, contributing to administration and medical practice. In 1081 (Eiho 1), he excerpted only emergency treatments from around 23 medical books from the Jin and Tang dynasties, and wrote the first volume of "Iryakusho." The content is an abridged version of "Ishinpo." [Yamane Nobuko] [Reference items] | | |Source: Shogakukan Encyclopedia Nipponica About Encyclopedia Nipponica Information | Legend |
