Tantori - Tantori

Also written as "Dandori." This is a type of tax collection method that was mainly used in the Kanto region during the Edo period. In contrast to the Rintsuketori method (often used in the Kansai region), which calculates the tax by multiplying the kokudaka (rice yield) by the men (tax rate), this method determines the tax amount per tan and then multiplies it by the total tan. 「段取」とも書く。江戸時代に主として関東地方で用いられた年貢徴収法の一種。石高 (こくだか) に免 (めん。年貢率) を乗じて算出する厘付取 (りんつけどり。関西で多く行われた) に対し，反あたりの租額を決定し，それに全反別を掛けて算出する方法をいう。
