A former town in Izushi County, northern Hyogo Prefecture. It occupies the mountainous area upstream of the Izushi River, a tributary of the Maruyama River. It has long been famous for its specialty product, Tajima Chirimen. It produces rice and vegetables, and also engages in dairy farming and poultry farming.
