[1] Former name of Tennoji Temple in Yanaka, Taito Ward, Tokyo. Founded by Nichigen. Originally a Nichiren sect temple, it converted to Tendai Buddhism during the Genroku era ( 1688-1704 ). In Tempo 4 ( 1833 ), it changed its name to Tennoji. Every year, a lottery was held on the 11th of the first, fifth, and September. The tower was also the subject of Koda Rohan's "Five-story Pagoda." [一] 東京都台東区谷中にある天王寺の旧称。開山は日源。はじめ法華宗であったが元祿年間(一六八八‐一七〇四)に天台宗に改宗。天保四年(一八三三)、天王寺と名を改める。毎年一、五、九月の一一日に富くじ興行が行なわれた。また、その塔は幸田露伴の「五重塔」の題材ともなる。[二] 鹿児島県出水郡野田町にある臨済宗の寺。山号、鎮国山。建久五年(一一九四)島津忠久の創建。開山は明庵栄西。島津家の菩提所。[三] 京都市上京区にある清和院の別称。平安初期の建立。
