An Egyptian Islamic thinker and a pioneer of modern Egyptian industry. He graduated from law and languages ​​school in 1889, and worked in management at foreign companies, including Daīla Sāniyya (a company entrusted with managing confiscated land by the government). After the 1907 depression, he criticized foreign capital's monopoly on finance and industry, and began writing and lecturing to advocate the establishment of a national bank. In 1920, he established the Misr Bank with Egyptian capital alone, and promoted the development of modern industries (Misr companies) with this bank as its axis. His works include "The History of the Islamic State" and "The Treatment of the Egyptian Economy and a Plan for the Establishment of the Bank of Egypt and a National Bank."
